I have disabled my firewall, disabled all networks except the wireless one I am connected to.
Now if I can just get it to keep syncing when the screen lock kicks in. Made sure both services were enabled and set to automatic, restarted Winamp and Swoosh! Winamp not only detected the HTC Device but also my HP Touchpad (Dual boot with Android OS). it discovered my device before I could even click the button. I set them both to automatic, started both services, and restarted winamp. In the services list (under "Administrative Tools" and then "Services"), for some reason "Function Discovery Provider Host" and "Function Discovery Resource Publication" were both set to disabled. I finally was able to figure it out today. I tried running as administrator, renaming my network connection, disabling the firewall, etc. I am going to give it a try over the next few days and I will report back on my findings.Īt this stage, I may have found a solution for my content management between my desktop, Samsung Galaxy S and iPad.I was having this exact same problem with my HTC EVO 4G on Win7 home premium 64bit where my Windows XP laptop detected my phone fine on the first try. This certainly brings new competition to DoubleTwist (a good attempt but far from polished) and The Missing Sync (which unfortunately didn’t work for me and support faded away when it got too difficult for them) which may have had the playing field much to themselves. One major feature of WINAMP for Android and the latest WINAMP 5.59 beta is the ability to wirelessly sync over Wi-Fi. It was also well respected for being incredibly lean on system resources (which were very limited at the time anyway compared to the many gigabytes of RAM modern computers usually possess). Today, one of the stalwarts of the media player industry enter the Android area, namely WINAMP. Other people don’t mind the stock player but find it somewhat bland and disinteresting. DoubleTwist has been popular as it can be paired up with client software on a regular computer for content management however it has not been without its problems and bugs.
From what I have gathered reading numerous forums and blogs, finding a good media player has been somewhat a quest for the holy grail for Android users.
